President Mahinda Rajapaksa being welcomed upon arrival at Thirumala in Andhra Pradesh, India
President Mahinda Rajapaksa arrived in Andhra Pradesh, India on a visit to Thirupathi, the famous hill temple of Lord Venkateswara as part of a two-day pilgrimage. The President participated in the ritual of reciting the ‘Suprabhatam' stanza, conducted by a group of priests inside the ancient temple. The temple priests honoured the President with the silk vastram of the deity, prasadam and holy water, while the authorities presented him with a diary, calendar and a memento of the god.
